Dick Becker is inducted for basketball. Dick was a tri-captain for the EHS basketball team that was 27 - 1, losing in the state final tournament. His game high of 29 points came in the regional tournament that year against McHenry. Becker was selected as a guard on the All-Conference 1st Team, a member of the Chicago Tribune All-Star Basketball Team, and named on Coach Bill Chesbrough's second unit on the "All-Chesbrough" team. Dick was also the quarterback for Elgin's football team, threw 14 touchdown passes and received all-conference honorable mention. He attended Northwestern University and played basketball for two years.
