A 1957 graduate of Elgin High School, Charneskey is the only Elginite to earn the coveted rank of Grand Master from the United States Handball Association, having won a minimum of 10 national championships. In Jon's career, he has won 14 National Handball titles: four doubles (3 three-wall and 1 four-wall), eight singles (7 three-wall and 1 four-wall), and two Masters Singles. In 1999, Jon won a World Championship in singles play, and he has also won 22 Illinois State Handball Championships in different levels of play.
