One of the nation's leading women trapshooters, Judy took up the sport at the age of thirteen. She has won the Illinois ATA women's championship six times, twelve other state women's singles awards, and four women's handicap trophies at the state shoot. Judy has two 99s in doubles to her credit, and she has earned the Illinois women's doubles trophy 20 times, including runs of seven and ten years. She has captured 14 other women's doubles awards and has 14 all—around trophies.

In 1963, Judy earned her first women's championship at the Grand American in the Doubles Championship. Since then she has collected seven more titles, plus 15 other twin—bird awards.

Judy has won two Australian national tournaments and one New Zealand national title. She has been named to the women's All-American teams 22 times, 15 to the first team and seven to the second team. She has earned places on 20 Illinois State Teams and has captured five Trap & Field All-Around Average Awards.
